The Independence Seaport Museum was established as the Philadelphia Maritime Museum in 1961 where items of Philadelphia’s maritime history are collected, displayed, preserved and studied.  The Independence Seaport Museum is an accredited museum where the collections include more than 10,000 objects and one million documents along with the historic Cruiser Olympia and the Submarine Becuna.  Also included at the museum is the Seaport Boat Shop which is dedicated to the skills and traditions of wooden boat building and sailing and where visitors can learn about how watercraft work and are constructed. 

Free admission privileges to ISM and Cruiser Olympia for 2 adults and 4 children (under 18 years old) during regular operating hours. Guided tours are not included. Guests may purchase add-on tours on-site the day of their visit.

Note that the Museum's main entrance is wheelchair accessible, however historic ships are not ADA accessible. The Museum may close without notice in the case of inclement weather. Visit www.phillyseaport.org for current hours and exhibits.
