DESCRIPTION:Pennsylvania author PJ Piccirillo will be on hand to 
 participate with book\nclub readers and fans alike as they discuss his 
 historical novel\, The Indigo Scarf.\n\nBased on the true story of two 
 escaped slaves who fled their owners with\nwhite women into the wilderness 
 of the upper Susquehanna River in the early\n1800s\, The Indigo Scarf 
 interprets how slavery persisted in the north during\nthe nineteenth 
 century.\n\nPJ Piccirillo is the author of the novels The Indigo Scarf and 
 Heartwood\,\nand the collected novella and stories Nunc Stans-A Ferry Tale. 
 He has twice\nwon the Appalachian Writers Association Award for Short 
 Fiction. PJ is a\nliterary artist-in-residence for the Pennsylvania Council 
 on the Arts and\nhas worked as a literary scholar for the PA Humanities 
 Council.\n\nThis is a hybrid event meaning patrons can register for 
 attending in-person or via Zoom. If registering in-person please be mindful 
 that there is a limited amount of space and to register for each person 
 individually.\n\n \n\n\n
