Poetry Workshop

Poetry Workshop In-Person

IN PERSON

Recommended for ages 8 to 12: During the poetry workshops, students will learn about a specific type of poem or a certain poet. Students will read example poetry, play interactive games to understand poetry structure, and work with others or individually to craft poems. For the first 30 min, we will have a lesson on the type of poem students will be learning about, and the latter half will be designated for writing poetry.

Sanya Tinaikar is a high school senior and writer. She serves as an Executive Editor for the international literary magazine Polyphony Lit and has been recognized by numerous institutions such as The New York Times, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and Columbia College Chicago, among others. If she's not pondering the next book she will read, she can be found attempting to draw The New Yorker cartoons or drinking tea from her favorite holiday mug.
