Directed by greats such as Billy Wilder, Howard Hawkes, John Huston, Fritz Lang and Otto Preminger, Film Noir was popularized by Hollywood during the 1940’s to 1950’s. It is a genre of dark and serious film and typically features crime, violence and the threat of death or other calamity. The protagonist is an anti-hero who becomes embroiled in a web of crime and intrigue.
