Virtual: Yin Yoga with Heather Online
Join yoga instructor, Heather Marquette, RYT500, PRYT, YACP, Trauma Yoga Certified, Reiki Master and owner of 2 Crows and a Raven Yoga LLC for Yin Yoga practices held on Tuesdays throughout the month. Please register for each program individually.
Yin Yoga practice is meant to create gentle stress to your joints and connective tissues to help irrigate them with blood and fluid so that the joints stay healthy and increase mobility by holding certain postures for an extended amount of time. It is important to listen to your body and stop when the body naturally wants to stop so not to overstress the ligaments and cartilage in your body. This practice is not about stretching your muscles; however, some stretch does happen in some postures. To prevent over stress to the muscles, we will make use of a variety of props.
Please have on hand:
- Yoga blocks or rolled up towels
- Yoga bolster or a firm big pillow, cushion off your couch works great
- Strap or belt to a robe
- If you feel:
- Intense tingling
- Release out of the posture. This is a nerve response and can cause nerve damage
The goal of all yoga practices is to reach a meditative state. This practice helps you to find your inter stillness by focusing on breath so you can be at the edge of uncomfortable both physically and mentally to create more mobility and flexibility.
Registration is required. Registration will close 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the event. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants 2 hours before the program starts. Make sure to check the email address you registered with to receive the link. You do not need a Zoom account to attend the virtual program.
