Weekend at the Shore in Paintings In-Person
Stories, games, paintings, and crafts!
Listen to a story about a man visiting a riverbank and seashore for his weekend holiday. While "accompanying" the main character, children will be introduced to famous artworks by Cassatt, Gauguin, Glackens, and Seurat. They will have a chance to discuss the paintings, noticing (among other things) the colors of the water. We will use the story, games, and discussions to draw children's attention to the mood of presented artworks and evoke children's personal memories and imagination.
We will also create a craft inspired by the paintings the children will be acquainted with.
For ages 4-7
