Plant Club Part 1 Online
*AGES 8-12* FIRM
Plant Club is back! Join the club and, throughout the course of six weeks, learn how to plant and grow herbs and flowers from seed indoors; how to direct sow seeds for winter vegetables outdoors; how to propagate herbs; the basic science of growing plants; the importance of pollinators, pollinator plants, and trees; using recycled and upcycled materials. All plants are grown in containers, but you will need a sunny spot indoors and a small space outdoors that gets sun (patio, balcony, fire escape, etc). You will be able to create a kit using supplies we provide: pots, trays, soil, seeds, plant markers, and more! More info will be sent following your registration.
This is a live program via Zoom that will meet every Tuesday; you are exptected to attend all classes since they are cumulative. Your registration today covers you for all the weeks in Part 1 of the workshop (six consecutive Tuesdays):
February 22
March 1
March 8
March 15
March 22
March 29
Information about picking up your kit will be sent following registration.
Registration for Part 2, which covers April 5 through May 10, will start mid-March. We hope to hold Part 2 on the outdoor terrace at the library, and to include a field trip to the Jenkins Arboretum within that session.
