Finding Inspiration for your Garden

Finding Inspiration for your Garden In-Person

A talk to help identify, seize upon and finally implement ideas that inspire our designs.

We all need inspiration to keep the garden fresh and exciting from season to season and year to year. Sometimes that creative spark just isn't clicking and you need a jump start...but from where?  Dan Benarcik will share some of the people, places and things that get my creative juices flowing and make you think about what inspires each of us.

Dan has had a varied career in horticulture, art, teaching and design. After receiving a BS in Plant Science from the U of DE, he began his career at the Mt. Cuba Center, where he developed a love of native plants. He then became a sales rep for Imperial Nurseries, but missed the art and design of working in a garden. He joined the staff of Chanticleer Garden in 1993, where he now oversees the Courtyard Gardens. Dan lectures internationally, teaches in the continuing education program at Longwood Gardens, and serves as a judge for the Philadelphia Flower Show. His writings have appeared in a variety of gardening magazines and you may have even seen him on TV.

This program is provided in partnership with the Conestoga Garden Club, the Twin Valleys Garden Club, and the Valley Garden Club.

Please note that this is an IN PERSON event. Masks are strongly encouraged for all visitors to the library, regardless of vaccination status, while Chester County is experiencing substantial or high community transmission of COVID-19.
