MEET THE ELEPHANTS - FOOD CHALLENGE

MEET THE ELEPHANTS - FOOD CHALLENGE In-Person

Calling all elephant lovers! Meet real, live Asian elephants in this final part of a 3-part Zoom series lead by Teachers of Nature.

This week is all about what the elephants at the Endangered Ark Foundation like to eat, focussing on nutrition as well. Did you know not all elephants like the same food, or even eat foods in the same way? Would you stomp on a watermelon before you ate it? Would you only eat the top of a pineapple? And who doesn't love kiwi? This super fun class will give you the opportunity to watch some of the elephants eat their favorite treats and learn about the different ways elephants eat.

This series is brought to you by Spring City Public Library and co-hosted by Atglen Public Library, Avon Grove Library, Chester Springs Library, Coatesville Area Public Library, Downingtown Library and Oxford Public Library. Registration is available on any of these Chester County Library's electronic calendars.

A Zoom link will be emailed to participants 2 hours before the event. Please register separately for each part of this 3-part series.

The Endangered Ark Foundation is a private, non-profit organization in southeast Oklahoma, dedicated to ensuring the future of Asian Elephants in North Africa, providing a retirement ranch for circus elephants, and educating the public about this endangered species. The foundation was established in 1993 by Dr. and Isla Miller to help preserve the endangered Asian Elephant species. The Miller Family's EAF elephant herd is one of the largest in the United States.
