ONLINE: Scratch Coding Game Design In-Person
Ages 7 Years & Up.
NOTE: There has been a change in the game description. Rather than learning to design and one game using the Scratch programming language*, you can create three different games:
Day 1, March 24: Racing Game - Learn how to make a car racing game you can play with friends and family. Learn the basics of Scratch all the way to complex code.
Day 2, March 25: Soccer Game - Design and play a soccer game using Scratch that two players can play against each other. This program will teach students how to program using variables, loops, and various blocks to bring this game to life.
Day 3: March 26, Snake Eating Apple Game - Learn how to make the snake larger as it eats apples using complex coding. Create a cool game to play with your friends and family.
This program is offered in partnership with Kids Connect, Penn State Extension - Chester County, and Phoenixville Communities That Care, and the Phoenixville Recreation Department.
*PLEASE NOTE!: Must have Scratch software in order to participate: download for free @ https://scratch.mit.edu. Once you are registered for the program and when the scheduled day arrives, we will send you a link to the ZOOM event. Each participant may also choose SWAG (a set of headphones or a pop socket offered by Compass Mark) and pick it up at the Library after the event!
