Virtual: Secrets of Attracting Birds to Your Backyard Online
Join Barb Elliot and Edie Parnum, Co-Directors of Backyards for Nature, a program of the Valley Forge Audubon Society, inspiring and teaching people to create healthy habitats in their yards by planting native plants and providing the essentials for wildlife to thrive. Discover the essential ingredients of a yard that attracts and helps birds throughout the seasons. Emphasis will be placed on choosing and growing locally native plants that meet the habitat needs of both resident and migrating birds. Tips will be provided for observing and enjoying the birds that visit your property and helping to keep them safe.
This program is part of the Longwood Gardens 8th Annual Community Read Program designed to encourage reading and start a conversation. In 2021 discover how one finds a passion for nature and explore what can become of that spark. Participants will be eligible for a free drawing for a one-day family pass for 4 to Longwood Gardens.
Registration is required. Registration will close 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the event. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants 2 hours before the program starts. Make sure to check the email address you registered with to receive the link. You do not need a Zoom account to attend the virtual program.
