Virtual: Behind-the -Scenes at Springton Manor Farm Online
Have you ever wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore, Pa? Join Park Ranger John Conlow and Chester County Food Bank Director of Agriculture (and farmer) Bill Shick as they share stories and hidden gems gleaned from their years working at this beloved county park. Within Springton’s 300 acres of woodlands and fenced fields, visitors can experience a real working farm, a multitude of wild and domesticated animals, multi-use trails, extensive agricultural history and even a small catch-and-release fishing pond. Initially part of a William Penn Manor, the property has been in agricultural use since the early 1700’s. Continuing this proud agricultural tradition, the park is currently home to a thriving Food Bank farming initiative which has provided thousands of pounds of fresh produce for eligible residents. There’s always something going on at Springton Manor Farm—even in the hours when visitors are nowhere to be found!
