Medicare 101
If you will be joining the ranks of Medicare soon, are already in the Medicare system and have questions, or you just want to understand what this federal program is all about, this session is for you. Learn about Medicare Parts A (Hospital Insurance), B (Medical Insurance), C (Medicare Advantage) and D (Drug Coverage); types of health care insurance available in Chester County, including Medigaps, aka Medicare Supplement Insurance, Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amounts (IRMAA), benefits available for low-income beneficiaries and things to consider when selecting your medical coverage. There will be time for questions and answers after the presentation.
This program will be presented by counselors from Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (PA MEDI). PA MEDI counselors are specially trained to answer your questions about Medicare and provide you with objective, easy-to-understand information about health insurance. Specifically, PA MEDI can answer your questions about Medicare, Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap), Medicaid and long-term care insurance as well as prescription drug plans. PA MEDI is nationally known as the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).
This will be a hybrid event and participants have the option of attending in person or virtually.
