Watershed Friendly Property Certification In-Person
Help protect your local streams and rivers and all the life that depends on clean water.
The Penn State Extension Watershed-Friendly Yard program supports homeowners and residents in protecting streams and groundwater while reducing stormwater runoff and flooding. The program focuses on four key goals: managing stormwater runoff, reducing pollution, conserving water, and supporting wildlife. In this presentation, you’ll learn practical, achievable ways to put these principles into action in your own yard or neighborhood!
Certifying your property as a Watershed Friendly Yard is a visible way to demonstrate your commitment to Pennsylvania’s valuable freshwater resources and inspires your neighbors to follow suit. Whether you have a large property, a smaller property, or live in an apartment, you can certify your property through Penn State. After reviewing the actions you can take to make your property watershed-friendly, we will walk through the simple online certification process and show you how easy it is to get recognized for making a positive impact.
