Our Makerspace team is pleased to offer Open Hours this Fall in the Children’s Makerspace. Each week, the Children’s Makerspace will host a different theme for patrons to explore – no registration required, just stop by!

January 2-3 - Indi Robot Exploration: Code our Indi Robot cars with colored tiles. Solve puzzles and mazes and create your own tracks for Indi to drive!

January 6-10 - Towers and Tall Structures (strawbees, blocks, cups, popsicle sticks, etc.): In this engineering challenge, kids will use various materials to build the tallest tower they can. Considering the properties of various materials, children will modify their designs to be both strong and tall.

January 13-17 - Coding with LEGO Spike: Explore the world of coding using our LEGO Education Spike Essential and Spike Prime kits. Build with Legos and then make them move, light up, and make noise! Children will utilize problem-solving and coding skills to tackle various problems and challenges.

January 20-24 - Mixed media art collage & construction: Using mixed media, kids will have the opportunity to create their own sculptural works of art. Decoupage, cardboard, recycled bottles, paint, wire, and more will be used in this art and design challenge!

January 27-31 - Chain Reaction Challenge: Design and build a chain reaction using dominoes, wooden planks, marbles, and more! Investigate Newton’s Laws of Motion, and explore concepts of potential and kinetic energy.
