Open Hours in the Children's Makerspace In-Person
Our Makerspace team is pleased to offer Open Hours this Fall in the Children’s Makerspace. Each week, the Children’s Makerspace will host a different theme for patrons to explore – no registration required, just stop by!
Tuesday through Thursday, 2 pm to 7 pm
Friday, 2 pm to 5 pm
Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm
December 2-6 - Mechanical Automata: Join us to learn about cardboard construction, mechanics, and automation. Using cardboard, hot glue, and wooden dowels, kids will create a machine that moves!
December 9-13 - Makey Makey Music: Using our Makey Makey kits, kids will create their own instruments and learn about coding, conductivity, and the art of making music.
December 16-20 - Light Up Holiday Cards & Winter Scenes: Make beautiful cards and paper creations that light up using conductive tape, LED lights, and coin cell batteries, and learn about electricity and conductivity.
December 23 - Light Up Holiday Cards & Winter Scenes: Make beautiful cards and paper creations that light up using conductive tape, LED lights, and coin cell batteries, and learn about electricity and conductivity.
December 30-31 - Indi Robot Exploration: Code our Indi Robot cars with colored tiles. Solve puzzles and mazes and create your own tracks for Indi to drive!
Please note: Children under eleven must be under the direct supervision of a responsible caregiver (at least 16 years of age) at all times while on Library premises, pursuant to the Library’s Policy on Unattended Children. Please visit our list of policies here.
