Birth Doulas: A Necessity Not Just a Luxury

Birth Doulas: A Necessity Not Just a Luxury In-Person

“Birth Doulas: A Necessity Not Just a Luxury” provides an overview of the history of doulas, along with evidence for why the support they provide before, during and after birth is important to helping every person have a positive birth experience. Isabel will explain how birth is a normal physiological process, though it is treated as a medical event. By offering reliable information and suggestions, Isabel will demonstrate how doulas play an essential role in the health and wellness of birthing people and their babies through education and advocacy. When families have this knowledge, they are more prepared for birth and better able to advocate for themselves and the birth that they want. There will be time for questions at the end of the talk.
