Story Lab

Story Lab In-Person

This is not your little sister’s storytime!

Storytime isn’t just for preschool kids. At Story Lab for school-age kids, we will combine fun, enjoyable (and often quite hilarious) stories with engaging problem-solving and creativity-shaking activities. Everybody loves to be read to, and who doesn’t like trying to figure out how to protect your house from a wrecking ball or how to identify a dinosaur by its tooth?

Why come to a “storytime” program as a big kid? Being read to has shown to increase cognitive learning skills, vocabulary, and even socialization skills. Listening to proficient readers read helps engage budding readers with their own reading and language skills. And pairing fun hands-on activities directly with a hilarious story helps readers build their comprehension skills with their own two hands.

Be sure to join us Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:30 for Story Lab.

Please note: This is a program for Kindergartners through 3rd graders, designed for kids who have the skills to sit and enjoy a longer book and more activities.
