CAN DO! Workshops: Gardening in Winter - Winter Seed Sowing In-Person
MEADOWITOS CAN DO WORKSHOPS: Winter Seed Sowing
Want to grow your own native pollinator plants? Want to get a jump on Spring? Join us to learn about Winter Sowing with local gardener and patron Faith Bickley.
Many native flowers need cold temperatures to start germination (this is called hardening or cold stratification). Create mini greenhouses using plastic gallon jugs to start many perennial seeds for your garden. All materials provided. Seeds sourced from our Meadowitos pollinator gardens and donated from area gardens!
This program supports Environmental Literacy as defined by Kennett Library and inspired by PA Forward. Learn more about Meadowitos at kennettlibrary.org/meadowitos.
