Open Hours in the Children's Makerspace: Supreme Simple Machines with Strawbees In-Person
Our Makerspace team is pleased to offer Open Hours this Fall in the Children’s Makerspace. Each week, the Children’s Makerspace will host a different theme for patrons to explore – no registration required, just stop by!
Monday through Thursday, 2 pm to 7 pm
Friday, 2 pm to 5 pm
Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm
The Makerspace may need to close for lunch - TBD
This week's theme: Supreme Simple Machines with Strawbees
Learn about the six simple machines that help humans work more efficiently and explore Newton's three laws of motion by building with Strawbees. Students will apply computational thinking skills to design and engineer various mechanical systems, including levers, inclined planes, wedges, pulley systems, wheels and axles, and screws.
Please note: Children under eleven must be under the direct supervision of a responsible caregiver (at least 16 years of age) at all times while on Library premises, pursuant to the Library’s Policy on Unattended Children. Please visit our list of policies here.
