Dialogue for Opportunity with Local Author Jim Zervanos In-Person
Brought to you in partnership with Delaware County Community College (DCCC) as part of the Dialogues for Opportunity series. This year's theme is "Transformation, Migration, and the Evolution of our Communities."
Local author Jim Zervanos, a seasoned high school English teacher and father of two, will discuss his book, Your Story Starts Here: A Year on the Brink with Generation Z. Speaking before a live audience, Jim will explore his experiences with today's youth and how they are thrust into a tumultuous world and burdened with saving it.
Event will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, as well as a limited book signing.
Jim Zervanos is the author of the memoirs Your Story Starts Here: A Year on the Brink with Generation Z and That Time I Got Cancer: A Love Story, as well as the novels LOVE Park and American Gyro (release date: 11/11/25). His award-winning essays and short stories have been published in numerous literary journals, magazines, and anthologies. He is a graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College and Bucknell University, where he won the William Bucknell Prize for English and was an Academic All-American baseball player. He teaches at a high school in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where he lives with his wife and two sons and has risen in the baseball pantheon as coach of two Little League teams.
