Youth Tai Chi In-Person
Taiji (Tai Chi) was named as one of top three “Best Exercises You Can Ever Do” by Harvard Medical School. In 2021, Harvard Medical School concluded that Tai Chi can help students with a “sharper mind” after a study of a group of students. NIH and other authoritative medical researchers found many other benefits from Tai Chi.
Youth Tai Chi is open to all school age 8+. If your child can use any of the benefits below (some require a longer-term commitment of Taiji practice), come join the journey and fun with Taiji.
- Increase coordination, flexibility and strength
- Improve the mind / body connection
- Build positive energy
- Stay calm and find inner peace
- Improve sleep quality
Class will be held outside, weather permitting. The first class, however, will be held indoors, and parents/guardians are invited to learn about class expectations. Class will not be held on July 25 so that Shannon may compete in the National Senior Games. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult who remains in the library for the duration of the program.
Instructor Shannon Luo has practiced Taiji (Tai Chi) for more than 10 years. She is a silver medal winner in 2018 and again in 2023, and a member of the USA WuShu Team for 2023 - 2025 (Internal Martial Arts).
Shannon founded Tao's Taiji Academy and has been researching ways and methodologies to enable students to learn Taiji correctly and effectively. Learning Taiji the right way is priceless.
