Lunch & Learn: Valley Forge Muster Roll (Valley Forge Park Alliance) In-Person
Learn about the 29,000 entries on the Muster Roll, its history, how it functions, its importance, how it honors those who encamped at Valley Forge, and more.
Join the Valley Forge Park Alliance for a meaningful Lunch & Learn featuring Michele Murphy, Carris Kocher, Mary Lynn Person, Chris Dautrich, and John Whiteside, as they explore the remarkable story behind the Valley Forge Muster Roll.
This volunteer-driven project honors the memory of the nearly 29,000 soldiers who spent the pivotal winter at Valley Forge between December 19, 1777, and June 19, 1778. In this presentation, you'll learn about:
- The history and function of the Muster Roll
- How it serves as a research and exploration tool
- What it can and can't do
- And most importantly, why remembering these individuals matters
Discover how this unique resource preserves the legacy of those who endured hardship for independence—and why their stories still resonate today.
Bring your lunch, bring your curiosity, and come be inspired by the names behind the Revolution.
