⚠️ CANCELLED ⚠️Teen Anime Afternoon: The Wind Rises In-Person
⚠️ CANCELLED ⚠️ Due to library power outage.
IN PERSON - Paoli Library
The Wind Rises, directed by Hayao Miyazaki — the legendary filmmaker behind Studio Ghibli hits like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Howl’s Moving Castle — was meant to be his final film before a (temporary) retirement. This film is is a dreamy, emotional story about chasing big dreams and the sacrifices that come with them. Jirō wants to design beautiful airplanes, not weapons, but the world has other plans. Along the way, he falls in love with Naoko, and their relationship becomes a quiet, powerful reminder of what really matters. It’s not a war movie — it’s about creativity, love, and the cost of following your passion.
