Banned Book Club

Banned Book Club In-Person

The Banned Book Club is reading their way through the ALA’s Top Challenged Books List to discuss the literary and artistic aspects of the text alongside its social context. We meet on the first Monday of each month from 1-2:30pm. New members are always welcome!

This month, we are hosting a Banned/Challenged Picture Book Storytime with our Children's Librarian! We are reading:

  1. My Moms Love Me by Anna Membrino / Illustrated by Joy Hwang Ruiz
  2. And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell / Illustrated by Henry Cole
  3. Sulwe by Lupita Nyong'o / Illustrated by Vashti Harrison

If you would like, you're also more than welcome to read any banned/challenged picture book and discuss it with us!

Registration is requested, but not required.
