One-on-One Sewing Tutorial In-Person
The Henrietta Hankin Library welcomes you to register for one-on-one sewing tutorials! In this tutorial session, you can either sew a square potholder, a rag quilt, or a drawstring gift bag using our sewing machine. Please specify which one you would like to complete in the registration form below. Below is the supply list for each item. We ask that you please bring your own materials. We will, however, supply the equipment needed.
Square Potholder:
- Two 12 x 12 inch squares of cotton fabric
- One 12 x12 inch Insul-Bright batting
- One package in coordinating color of Extra Wide Double Fold Bias Tape
- Painter's tape approximately 1 inch wide for ease in machine quilting
Rag Quilt (Baby-Size Quilt):
- 1.25 yards of fabric for front
- 1.25 yards of fabric for backing
- 30" x "40 piece of batting
Rag Quilt (Lap-Size Quilt):
- 3.5 yards of fabric for front
- 3.5 yards of fabric for back
- 50" x 60" piece of batting
Drawstring Gift Bag
- 1/2 yard of fabric
- 2 yards of wire edge ribbon, each cut into 1-yard lengths
- Safety Pin
When you register for an event, we are holding a spot for you. If your schedule changes and you can't attend, please let us know so we can open your slot for someone else.
