Doc of the Month: "Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution" In-Person
Grab a friend and get ready to learn something new through engaging documentaries at your local library. Each month starting in February and ending in October, we'll be showing a documentary in the library that corresponds with that month's heritage or awareness designation. In honor of Disability Awareness Month, MPL will be screening Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution directed by James Lebrecht and Nicole Newnham. From the Netflix website:
Down the road from Woodstock, a revolution blossomed in a ramshackle summer camp for teenagers with disabilities, transforming their lives and igniting a landmark movement. CRIP CAMP: A DISABILITY REVOLUTION is an untold story co-directed by Emmy® Award winner Nicole Newnham and film mixer and former camper Jim LeBrecht. Executive producers include President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis and Priya Swaminathan, and Oscar® nominee Howard Gertler (How to Survive a Plague).
Registration is required as seats are limited. Questions? Contact Moses Sharpe at msharpe@ccls.org or call the library at 610-644-7259.
