Musical Performance: Steel Drums with David Gettes In-Person
Join us for an entertaining and educational steel drum performance featuring musician David Gettes of Trinidad North.
The steel drum, also known as the steelpan, is the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago. Learn more about the history and background of this unique instrument and enjoy live music at the library! David Gettes, renowned steel drum player, maker, and teacher, founded his band Trinidad North in 1985 and has performed throughout our region and all over the world. Hear how steel drums are made and then hear them played at this engaging and informative musical event!
