A History of Russian Art: The Russian Museum Collection

A History of Russian Art: The Russian Museum Collection In-Person

Presented by Stacey Watson, former tour guide in St. Petersburg, Russia

The Russian Museum houses the largest and most magnificent collection of Russian art in the world. A walk-through its galleries takes visitors on a journey through Russian history, culture, and art from the 10th-21st centuries.

On this guided journey, we will explore the stories behind the masterpieces and answer questions, such as: What is authentic Russian art? What did the Zaporozhian Cossacks reply to the Sultan? What Russian artist would you think twice before asking to paint you? Is the Black Square black?

Registration is requested, but not required.
