Protecting Democracy: Redistricting and Gerrymandering

Protecting Democracy: Redistricting and Gerrymandering In-Person

As the November elections approach, voters are concerned about election fairness.  Legislative redistricting is essential to ensuring that every vote counts.  Join the League of Women Voters and Fair Districts PA guest speaker Rich Rafferty and learn about Pennsylvania’s redistricting process, how politicians have used it to draw district maps that benefit themselves and influence election outcomes through “gerrymandering,” and how that process negatively impacts the Commonwealth.  A solution will be offered that has worked in other states and can end the manipulation of redistricting.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisangrassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacyeducation, and litigation, at the local, state, and federal level.

Fair Districts PA is a non-partisan coalition of citizens and organizations seeking to reform PA redistricting rules by ensuring that the process is impartial, transparent, and accountable.

Registration is suggested. Registration will close 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the event. Walk-ins are welcome.
