Musical Performance: Bossa Nova Classics and Originals by Minas In-Person
Celebrating in 2024 their 40th anniversary since moving from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Philadelphia, Minas has been on the forefront of world music and Brazilian Jazz in the Northeast ever since. Led by the couple Orlando and Patricia Haddad, Minas has recorded and released 8 CDs, 7 of them in Philadelphia. Their latest, “Beatles in Bossa,” reached #1 and was among the 10 best Latin Jazz albums in 2022, on Roots Music Report. Minas has performed in many major national venues including the Lincoln Center in NY, the Kennedy Center in DC, and The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
