Widening Circle Presents: An In Depth Exploration of Active Hope

Widening Circle Presents: An In Depth Exploration of Active Hope In-Person

ACTIVE HOPE--An experiential workshop in 5-sessions based on “Active Hope - How to face the mess we’re in with unexpected resilience and creative power” by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone

Active Hope is about finding and offering our best response when facing concerns about our world situation.

This is an experiential workshop that builds on itself. Participation in all sessions is strongly encouraged and a deep commitment is expected. This is an extraordinary opportunity sponsored by the Kennett Library as a free workshop to the public.

What to expect:

  • We will build the skills of deep listening and of being fully present with each other.
  • We will introduce and practice somatic healing work that helps us to settle our nervous systems.
  • You will be able to clarify your path forward in response to the climate and ecological emergency
  • We will practice the tools presented in the book, that help us face the mess we’re in, strengthen and discover our own resilience.

  • 5 Wednesday evenings: February 28th through March 27th 2024, 6-8pm
  • Hosted at the Kennett Library
  • Facilitators: Heather Leach, Yulia Smagorinsky
  • Registration required – limited to 20 participants
    • The registration list will be shared with the facilitators.
  • Books will be available to those registered - pick up your book at the circulation desk
  • Please plan on attending each session and prepare by reading the assigned chapters.
