Winter Sowing Workshop

Winter Sowing Workshop In-Person

For Adults    Registration is required   Longwood Gardens Community Read Event

Save space, save time, and get a jump on growing your own seedlings. Winter Sowing is a method of starting your seeds in the winter and growing them outside so you can easily transplant them into your garden after the last frost. Winter Sowing is NOT container gardening. Participants will get a hands-on opportunity to start seeds in a milk jug and take them home to place outside.

We'll also be talking about the Community Seed Connection and easy seed-saving techniques so you can help us keep the seed library sustainable.

If you have seeds saved and would like to donate some for the CSC, please bring them. No need to package them in small packets.

This event is a Longwood Gardens Community Read Event

Longwood Gardens’ Community Read is an award-winning program uniquely envisioned as a collaborative effort between the Gardens and the community to encourage reading for pleasure and to start a conversation surrounding gardens, plants, or nature. A limited number of One Day Passes for 4 to Longwood Gardens will be given in a raffle at this event.
