Pioneer Female Physicians Talk and Tea In-Person
Come celebrate Women's History Month by listening to women physicians of a bygone era, revolutionaries who broke new ground in helping women receive better medical care. Women like Ida V. Reel, Clara Marshall, Ann Preston, Mary H. Cheyney and Ella Webb were all well-educated and made personal sacrifices to attend and graduate from the Women's Medical College in Philadelphia. These ladies of medicine that served Chester County from the 19th and early 20th centuries will be portrayed by local re-enactors.
Following will be an introduction to the Chester County Archives and Records Services. Special thanks goes to Stacy Hutcheson of the Chester County Archives for her work in compiling the flipbook "Chester County Prioneer Female Physicians," which was the inspiration for this event.
Light refreshments will be provided by AAUW West Chester-Chester County (PA).
