Writing Letters to the Editor

Writing Letters to the Editor In-Person

Letters to the editor can be a powerful way to get the word out about an issue. Learn tools, tips, and tricks for writing an effective one in this program led by Sam Sorensen and Carla Vastine.

Registration is required.

Sam Sorensen taught college writing for six years, tutored in a university writing center for five years, and worked as an editor for online publications and freelance hire before coming to Tredyffrin as the Adult Programming Coordinator. They have taught previous workshops on crafting resumes and cover letters while helping job seekers navigate the intimidating job-hunting landscape. Their extensive background positions them as a kind and knowledgable coach for writers of all skill levels.

Carla Vastine graduated from Lafayette College and earned a Master of Education degree from Cabrini University with a focus on Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. After working at Tredyffrin Library as a Children's Literacy Specialist for ten years, Carla pursued a career in higher education at Cabrini University, then at Widener University where she was the Assistant Director of Student Accessibility Services. Carla has recently returned to Tredyffrin Library as a Reference Assistant. Carla is an avid reader and is highly committed to literacy and life-long learning.
