Fair Districts PA Speaker

Fair Districts PA Speaker In-Person

Fair Districts PA volunteer Mark Pavlovich will offer a presentation about the problem of gerrymandering – drawing legislative districts to favor one party or group – and how to fix it.  In addition to outlining how redistricting works in Pennsylvania, he will review how gerrymandering is used to hijack the redistricting process and the consequences for voters.  Finally, he will present options for fixing the problem and ways you can help.  The presentation will include opportunities for Q&A with the audience.

Founded in 2016 as a project of the League of Women Voters, Fair Districts PA is a nonpartisan, statewide organization working to create a process for redistricting that is transparent, impartial and fair.  Specifically, we seek to amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to create an independent citizens redistricting commission to oversee the drawing of the Commonwealth’s state and federal legislative districts.
