You’re on your own but you’re not alone: A path to academic success as you transition from high school to college

You’re on your own but you’re not alone: A path to academic success as you transition from high school to college In-Person

Rising first year college students are invited to a two-part series covering time management and the resources colleges have in place to support you. This interactive workshop will help you think about and identify how to get your out-of-class work done while still leaving time for social activities and the laundry. You’ll also get an introduction to the extras schools offer to ensure your academic success such as professor office hours, tutoring, and the writing center.

The series is led by Carla Vastine. Carla worked in early literacy at the TPL Children’s Department for ten years prior to pursuing her Master of Education degree at Cabrini University while working at Cabrini’s Disability Resource Center. She continued her career in Student Accessibility at Widener University where one of her roles was providing academic coaching to support student success. Carla returned to work at TPL last July as a Reference Assistant.

We hope you’ll join us for this series that will give you the confidence you need to get off on the right foot on your college journey.
