Author Talk: Christine Emmert & Stephanie Cowell: A Writing Friendship In-Person / Online
Writers Christine Emmert and Stephanie Cowell met at the age of fifteen, and sixty-five years later they maintain ties as friends and fans of each other's works. They both have had work published this year that is different from each other but also displays the talents that have kept their work and closeness alive. Copies of their books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
Christine Emmert is known in this area for her appearances as an actress and playwright. She also takes pleasure in writing across the genres. You can find her work read/performed in the USA, UK and Canada. She has attended many of the Library's Open Mic Nights for Writers. Her new novella, Dreaming of Storms, talks about the relationship between art and life.
Stephanie Cowell lives in New York. She is the recipient of an American Book Award and the author of three W.W. Norton novels (Nicholas Cooke, The Physician of London, The Players: a novel of the young Shakespeare), plus Marrying Mozart (Viking Penguin), and Claude & Camille: a novel of Monet (Crown Random House). Her work has been translated into several languages. Her newest novel, The Boy in the Rain, was recently published by Regal House Publishing, and explores a love story at the edges of the opening of the last century in England.
This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Registration is required.
