Cookbook Club: "Mediterranean Cooking- great flavors for the American kitchen" by Matthew Kenny

Cookbook Club: "Mediterranean Cooking- great flavors for the American kitchen" by Matthew Kenny In-Person

Our next Cookbook Club adventure in world cultural cuisines takes us on a gastronomic journey to North Africa and the Eastern Rim, as well as France and Italy. Matthew Kenney's “Mediterranean Cooking” is a new take on the cuisines of the Mediterranean Rim - from Casablanca to Istanbul to Sicily - by one of America's best young chefs. Taking traditional recipes and adapting them to American kitchens and palates by using widely available ingredients and simplified techniques, Matthew Kenney has created a signature cooking style that is also a satisfying culinary experience for the home cook.

To participate, visit the reference desk at the Chester County Library where you will be given the opportunity to browse Matthew Kenney's “Mediterranean Cooking: great flavors for the American kitchen”. Choose a recipe, receive a photocopy and then prepare that dish and bring it to the “Cookbook Club” night, Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 6:00 PM on the second floor in the Staff Kitchen. Participants will discuss the recipes they have chosen, their experience preparing the dish and any changes made. Dishes will be shared amongst the group for tasting. Participants will be encouraged to share food and culture stories from their own lives.

Please bring plate/ bowel and eating utensils (for tasting) and serving spoon for your dish.

Registration is required. Registration will close 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the event.
