The Volta Way: Make Your Home a Safe and Restorative Place

The Volta Way: Make Your Home a Safe and Restorative Place In-Person / Online

Key Points

-redefining the value of domestic work

-gender equality in the home

-eliminating toxic chemicals in a world that begs us to care

If society is a reflection of the people, how we live in our homes might be more important than we’ve been giving it credit for.  The Volta Way was inspired by feminist principles and Lois’ belief that the home should be a safe and restorative space in a troubled world.  This workshop focuses on positively altering perceptions of domesticity through awareness-based living habits. By honoring work done in the home, teaching families how to engage with their domestic reality, and learning how to aid in the liberation of women (right at home), we can collectively achieve higher levels of consciousness within ourselves and communities.

Lois Volta is a domestic educator, professional organizer, co-owner and creator of The Volta Way, a holistic, feminist housekeeping company in Philadelphia, and owner of a natural cleaning product line. She also writes a feminist domestics column for Grid magazine and is the host of "Confessions of a Cleaning Lady", a radio show aired from G-town Radio
