Staying informed about mammography and its implications is vital for all women over 40 and healthcare professionals alike. Sometimes things are not as they appear.  The official recommendation of our Government’s Task Force has changed despite the lack of new data for analysis.  Computer models have been updated, and mammography is now recommended for all women over 40 years of age. This revision is intended to reflect a shared effort to balance benefits and risks. However, the weighting of the cons perhaps should be given to women in this balancing act.  Join this presentation to understand what all this means for women’s health and how mammography recommendations are evolving.  Your participation in this presentation will help you make more informed decisions about women's health and medical care. 

James Kolter, M.D., completed both his medical degree (1976) and Ob/Gyn residency training (1980) from the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, one of his joys was teaching medical students from Pennsylvania Hospital, PCOM, Temple School of Medicine, and Jefferson School of Medicine.  Furthermore, he helped develop minimally invasive surgical techniques, including a strong robotic surgery program, while serving as Chief of Ob/Gyn at Paoli Hospital.  He retired from Bryn Mawr Hospital in 2018, where he taught medical students and supported physicians in learning from his surgical experiences.  He continues his education to this day; much of his learning has come from his patients and their experiences, which aligns with his philosophy of balancing nature and technology.
