Dive into Art History: Frida Kahlo In-Person
I became one of the most famous artists in the world...but not in my lifetime. Although I suffered many misfortunes in my life, I confronted my suffering and turned it into art, art that was “acid and tender, hard as steel and delicate and fine as a butterfly’s wing...and as profound and cruel as the bitterness of life” (as my little husband described it). I am most famous for my self-portraits, which continue to speak to people today. Come to the library on Cinco de Mayo and hear my story. Who knows? Maybe it will inspire you as it has inspired hundreds of thousands of people in your time.
P.S. Reports of me having a mustache are false.
