"An Outrage" Documentary Screening and Discussion

"An Outrage" Documentary Screening and Discussion Online

Join us and the members of Phoenixville's Diversity in Action group for a virtual screening and discussion of the documentary, An Outrage (2017, 34 min.), about lynching in the American South.  Filmed on-location at lynching sites in six states and bolstered by the memories and perspectives of descendants, community activists, and scholars, this unusual historical documentary educates and urges us to remember and reflect upon a long-hidden past.  Learn more about the film at https://www.an-outrage.com/.  The screening will be followed by a short presentation on the 1911 lynching of Zachariah Walker in Coatesville, PA.  Diversity in Action will then lead a discussion and highlight the Phoenixville community's current and future actions to take responsibility for this history.
