The Art and Magic of Animatronics (STEM Lecture for Adults)

The Art and Magic of Animatronics (STEM Lecture for Adults) In-Person

Prop fabricator, author, and UNCSA professor Eric Hart will share insights into the rapidly developing field of Animatronics at our annual STEM Lecture for Adults.

Hart is the director of one of the only graduate-level programs for Animatronics in the world at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  Join us for an enlightening evening and learn more about the art and science of bringing animated life to electronic and mechanical figures.

Hart has been building props, puppets, and effects for film, theatres both on and off-Broadway, New York's "Shakespeare in the Park", and operas around the world, as well as for retail stores, theme parks, and other industries since 2003. He is the author of The Prop Building Guidebook: For Theatre, Film, and TV, now in its third edition. www.eric-hart.com/

Thank you to our presenting sponsor, First Bank.

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) Lecture for Adults is presented each fall by the Easttown Library Foundation, with past speakers including Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts of The Franklin Institute, Dr. Patrick McGovern of PENN Museum, and Paleontologist Dr. Kenneth Lacovara of Rowan University.  Thanks to the generosity of our Annual and Endowment Fund supporters, the Foundation is able to bring nationally recognized scientists and experts in STEM topics to Easttown Library.
